FROM HERE TO THE MOON AND BACK AGAIN...

"Grweee","what was that sound?" I inquired from my aunt;
Sally but she was lost in thought, she didn't even hear me.
"Shut your trap" a woman hissed out beside me. My lips went lame
almost immediately and I thought it wise to make good use of the time
at such I made the human who had snapped at me my object of study.

She was petite with brown eyes and brown hair. I I guess she would've
been tagged pretty if she wasn't wearing a scrowl. She was adjacently
facing a man who I took as her husband. (More like her father
considering the obvious age difference, but what do I know, I'm justa
ten year old boy).

Having being snapped at by the supposed couple to my
right, I ventured toward my left side and my travelling eyes caught a
glimpse of another supposed couple. The lady was a blonde. She had
startling blue eyes. Nonetheless, I noticed she was sobbing and her
husband was busy whispering words lovingly to her.

My eyes traveled back from whence it came and I beheld sally
passionately muttering words in utmost seriousness as she had her
organ of sight tightly closed.

"Is she praying?", I kept wondering as another sound brought
me out of my embarked upon keen study of my current milieu. The sound
shook the ground, bringing me out of my reverie and I recalled we were
trapped inside an elevator.
I became scared and asked myself if we were going to die. Tears rolled
down my cheeks as Sally drew me close, patting me on the back. "It
will be alright" she said.

"What are we going to do?" I asked aloud sniffing. The scrowling woman
glared at me and told me to shut the heck up again else she would give
me a beating. She asserted that I was constituting what she called
mental disturbance.

This time, Sally snapped at her rebuking and warning
that she cease to use such words with me. For a while the duo were
caught in a form of eye tossle exchange battle before they eventually
retreated.
Just then, we heard clatering feet and after some minutes, the
elevator opened at the top. We were told to hurry because the elevator
could close at anytime. Sally tried carrying me up to be taken by the
officers but the scrowling woman pushed me back as she scrambled to
get on the ladder with her husband closely behind her.

After they had left, sally hugged me and we exchanged a smile. She
told me she loved me and I returned her words. Just as we finished
ours, we heard the couple follow our stead by exchanging words.
However, their was a bit elongated and as I eave dropped all I could
ear was "from here to the moon and back".

For some reason, the words got stuck in my heart. They
helped Sally in hauling me up and just as Sally started climbing, the
elevator began to close. "No!!!," I shouted.
Sally blew me a kiss and the last thing I saw before everything went
dark was three scary faces.

... I hear voices around me. Jeez, they make echoes in my brain.
Painfully, I opened my eyes and was met by the glaring stares of two
people. I looked around and saw noticed the clinical environment, then
it dawned on me that I was in a hospital.
A number of questions ran through me. Who are they? What am I doing in
an hospital? And why do I feel sad?

"Chris", one of the two people, the woman called out. Her
words got me confused. "Chris?, Who is Chris?" I asked the woman.
She looked at me like I had grown horns. "You are Chris", she said.
"Me?, no I'm not." I replied she then asked me what my name was. It
was then that it dawned on me that I couldn't say what my name really
was.

The woman burst in tears and the man pated her on the back in a
comforting manner. "Who are you guys?", I asked when I could no longer
contain my urge to satisfy my inquisitive state of mind.
It was as though my question brought out the real anguish in the woman
because she started wailing.

The doctor was called and after a while, he
diagnosed me of being amnesic. "He has amnesia." "I think it was due
to the shock but I don't know if it is permanent or temporary", the
doctor concluded.
The duo were later identified as my parents and I'm a son to the
couple who at birth named me Chris.

They further told me about my myself but I cut them short by inquiring
to know the event that made me a hospital patient. They looked at
each other after which they continued telling me about my education,
friends and the likes.
Although they said quite a number of things however, the only thing I
had in my head was the phrase. "From here to the moon and back" and I
wondered, where in did I hear the word from?
