We're all on the stage
Unavoidable; its her plague
But there's more to the cane than its disdain
Though stained and maimed
Scars deep in jars
Knowledge and experience
Our memoirs reverence
In our toils
In distress and redress
Sojourners we remain
Hoping some day the stain away we'll take
